The Pickers is a piece I wrote for solo soprano voice and the recorded sounds of Sizewell Nuclear Power station, on the coast of East Anglia. I wrote it with poet Rosa van Hensbergen with development support from Britten Pears Arts. It was commissioned as a radio piece by the BBC with support from the ICA and NTS and got played at 2am on BBC6. I am going to release it as an EP soon.
